History of the school
The École de Fontvieille is a State primary school under the aegis of the Department of Education, Youth and Sport of the Principality of Monaco.
The École de Fontvieille opened in September 1988. At that time, it had three nursery classes and ten elementary classes. It had pupils from music classes from Years 2 to 6 and advanced classes.
In 1995, when the École de Condamine opened, the pupils from the music classes were housed in this new building.
In 1996, the École de Fontvieille was expanded by adding a new floor on the nursery side. Today, it has 15 classes from nursery level to Year 6, three English classrooms, a support room, a library and video room and a toy library in the nursery section. For lunch, the school offers a dining room for nursery pupils and a self-service canteen for elementary pupils.
The school is situated in a garden and is only two floors high. It has a calm, peaceful. atmosphere. It is just a few steps away from the prestigious Louis II Stadium, where pupils can enjoy all the sports facilities.
Today, the École de Fontvieille has more than 330 pupils. They are supervised by more than 50 people, who provide their education and ensure their safety and well-being on a daily basis.
